FAQ
The Questions Representatives and Attorneys Ask
Including the ones where the answer is that we cannot help you.
No fee to talk it through, and no client details needed to start. If the timing is urgent, call rather than email.
Estate and probate custody
- Who can instruct you?
- The personal representative, executor, or someone with documented court authority.
- Can a beneficiary instruct you?
- No. That rule protects every beneficiary equally.
- Do you value property?
- No. We describe and photograph. Use an independent appraiser.
- What is in the inventory?
- Each item described and photographed, serial numbers where they exist, the room, everyone present, the date and the seal numbers.
- Can the inventory be corrected?
- As a dated, signed amendment. We do not quietly edit a signed document.
- Whose name is the holding in?
- The estate's, with access limited to named individuals.
- How long can it stay?
- As long as probate takes. Month to month.
- What about a bank safe deposit box?
- You open it; we witness, record the inventory in the booth, seal and transport. Check what the branch requires first.
- What if the estate is contested?
- We hold neutrally, document thoroughly, and release only on documented authority or court direction.
- Will you decide who gets what?
- No. Never.
- Do you comply with subpoenas?
- Yes, with valid legal process, and we publish that.
- Can property be stored anonymously?
- No, and we would decline the request.
- Is it insured?
- Coverage is available separately through Lloyd's of London. Not FDIC — no vault contents anywhere are.
- Can you help before appointment?
- We can explain and prepare. We cannot collect until somebody has authority.
- Do you give legal advice?
- No. Nothing here is legal advice.

What, from where, and roughly when. You do not need an inventory to start the conversation, and if the job belongs with an armored carrier we will say so on the call.
